If you're normally comfortable while others are always cold around you, you might be better with a 1mm suit. I bought the 3mm and started using it in Maui during the month of April. I'm at the point where I constantly must insert new water to the suit all the time to cool down.
It fits great and everything is cool, just note that it might be too warm for you in the Hawaiian water in the spring-summer.
