I was so excited about my first Waihana wetsuit I tried it on in my truck/parking lot here in the PNW in 35 degree F weather when it arrived. I got the 3mm Ranger for some upcoming adventures in MX and it fits like a glove! Can’t wait to put it to good use in the coming weeks, it’s beautiful. I am 6’2” and weigh 195 lbs, athletic build and purchased the XL.
Got the change to dive this suit with some cave divers during a GUE fundamentals course down in Mexico. Water temp was mid 70s, average depth 20-60ft range, duration 2-3+ hours in the water. I was the only one in wetsuit and the 3.0mm was plenty warm. Look forward to diving more of the other gear you sent out.
We all do so much of our business/purchasing online anymore and most of the time it is a faceless, solitary and sterile experience. There is no human interaction, no connection, just click here and enter your credit card number. In my personal experience this has caused the massive decline in customer service that we have all seen. If you don’t have to look your customer in the eye there is no incentive to put your best foot forward.
Well, despite all of these things the folks at Waihana have managed to keep the customer experience alive. This wetsuit is my second purchase from them and in both cases the customer service has been absolutely flawless. Have both purchases gone perfectly? Nope… But that isn’t the point here. When there was an issue, they responded quickly, offered solutions and at no point did I feel like I was just a #. I got phone calls to work through the issue assurances that the problem would be solved and then they delivered on those promises promptly. All my interactions with the folks a Waihana have been absolutely fantastic and have revived my faith in the retail experience. Pay attention folks, this is how it’s done...
Ultimately I came out at the end with two absolutely fantastic wetsuits that I absolutely adore. I have the Goliath Grouper and Ranger Green wetsuits both of which I do not get enough opportunities to use but the times I do they perform flawlessly and as advertised. I will be purchasing more not because I need them but because, well, I can. I feel it my duty to do my part in keeping companies like Waihana alive and well so that others have the opportunity to experience the same fantastic service that I have and… bonus… get a great product as well.
Keep it up Waihana! As long as your are around I will never purchase another wetsuit from anyone else…. EVER…. y’all ROCK!
Needed 3mm that I could use in Spring & Autumn in Bermuda, but didn't want the hassle of having to lube up like my open cell 5mm Goliath Grouper. The Green Ranger is easy to get on and off with no need for baby shampoo or conditioner, but keeps you as wam as a 3mm open cell. The build quality is superb as always. I will enjoy using this suit to film Mobula Rays and Orcas in a few weeks time down in Mexico!
Epic suit, would love a non hooded option from you guys.
